Level 1:
  The Level 1 Award in Fire Safety Awareness is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters, where a basic understanding of fire safety is required.  This qualification can be taken as a free standing qualification or as part of a wider programme of training. The course is designed to unable all candidates to contribute into the fire safety procedures in the workplace.

Duration:
  A half a day course depending on the target audience (4 hours).

Certification:  A certificate will be issued to all delegates, subject to passing the assessment.

This qualification does not expire, but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies and procedures is vital to keep the qualification current.  A student cannot assume a responsibility in the workplace until they reach the age of 16, and then it is the employer’s responsibility to ensure that the student is supervised in that role (young worker).
